چکیده

In a routing framework, it might not be viable to visit every single customer separately due to resource limitations or e ciency concerns. In such cases, utilizing the notion of coverage; i.e., satisfying the demand of multiple customers by visiting a single customer location, may be advantageous. With this motivation, we study the time constrained maximal covering salesman problem (TCMCSP) in which the aim is to find a tour visiting a subset of customers so that the amount of demand covered within a limited time is maximized. We provide flow and cut formulations and derive valid inequalities. Since the connectivity constraints and the proposed valid inequalities are exponential in the size of the problem, we devise di↵erent branch-and-cut schemes. Computational experiments performed on a set of problem instances demonstrate the e↵ectiveness of the proposed valid inequalities in terms of strengthening the linear relaxation bounds as well as speeding up the solution procedure. Moreover, the results indicate the superiority of using a branch-and-cut methodology over a flow-based formulation.

Efficient Solution Procedure to Develop Maximal Covering Location Problem Under Uncertainty (Using GA and Simulation)

In this paper, we present the stochastic version of Maximal Covering Location Problem which optimizes both location and allocation decisions, concurrently. It’s assumed that traveling time between customers and distribution centers (DCs) is uncertain and described by normal distribution function and if this time is less than coverage time, the customer can be allocated to DC. In classical mod...

General form of a cooperative gradual maximal covering location problem

Cooperative and gradual covering are two new methods for developing covering location models. In this paper, a cooperative maximal covering location–allocation model is developed (CMCLAP). In addition, both cooperative and gradual covering concepts are applied to the maximal covering location simultaneously (CGMCLP). Then, we develop an integrated form of a cooperative gradual maximal covering ...

مدل‌بندی و حل مساله ماکزیمم پوشش p -هاب تک تخصیصی با پوشش تدریجی

P-hub maximal covering location problem is one of the most commonly used location- allocation problems. In this problem, the goal is to determine the best location for the hubs such that the covered demand is maximized by considering the predefined coverage radius. In classical hub problems, if the distance between the origin and destination is less than this radius, coverage is possible; other...

A modified NSGA-II solution for a new multi-objective hub maximal covering problem under uncertain shipments

Hubs are centers for collection, rearrangement, and redistribution of commodities in transportation networks. In this paper, non-linear multi-objective formulations for single and multiple allocation hub maximal covering problems as well as the linearized versions are proposed. The formulations substantially mitigate complexity of the existing models due to the fewer number of constraints and v...

Mathematical Model for Bi-objective Maximal Hub Covering Problem with Periodic Variations of Parameters

The problem of maximal hub covering as a challenging problem in operation research. Transportation programming seeks to find an optimal location of a set of hubs to reach maximum flow in a network. Since the main structure's parameters of the problem such as origin-destination flows, costs and travel time, change periodically in the real world applications, new issues arise in handling it. In t...
